In Winter 2018/2019 I was connected with the good folks at Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence. They were about to unveil their 2019 Gun Law Scorecard—an interactive data-driven web page that explores the connection between gun laws and gun violence—and wanted an animation to promote it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that tighter gun laws = less gun violence, and the data bears that out.
It was such a pleasure working with the Giffords team. Their designers provided the map and data visuals from the web site to use in the animation, and I iterated upon their branding to build out this promo.
